Stade Jean-Bouin - nous sommes arrivées
We then arrived there and after a short search we arrived directly at the press entrance. The security measures in Paris are probably the most extreme in the entire ELF, but they are not disruptive. We and our luggage and equipment were thoroughly inspected. Then we got our passports and were allowed inside. The way through the catacombs made us realize that the stadium was actually made for bigger events. When we reached the actual entrance to the inner area, it was a bit overwhelming. The stadium is incredibly beautiful. The modern, curved architecture, the colors, the perimeter area with artificial turf instead of the usual concrete or running tracks and the chic Paris logos and CI everywhere. Somehow we felt as if this had been part of the 5-star combined ticket with the TGV. On the downside, there were quite a few advertising boards and relatively little space for what I thought was an extremely large number of photographers and/or videographers. There was a nice big screen at the top of the stadium corner. The Musketeers logo was oversized there. Some of the Rhein Fire players were already in the middle of the warm-up, as were the Parisians (ok ok, I’ll use another word). Quickly packed up the cameras and off we went. With rain in between and unfortunately no pleasant temperatures, it wasn’t the best weather for photographing football in a rather high-rise arena. Although the roof construction was translucent, the light could have been better. As always, there are reports on the game itself at Foot Bowl. We ourselves usually only write about our impressions as photographers.
