Just thinking
Week 5 was really difficult for us. We had planned to play 2 games per weekend if possible. Somehow that just didn’t work out in week 5. We briefly considered going to Nuremberg on Saturday (it was the Ravens’ Nuremberg game against the Surge) and then going to Prague on Sunday for the Vikings’ game with the Lions. The problem was the game times. Kickoff in Nuremberg was 7pm. Kickoff in Prague was already 1 pm. Nothing should have gone wrong and we should have left a little earlier or at least directly after the game in Nuremberg. Apart from that, there was another game in Barcelona and one in Switzerland on Saturday. Sunday was another game in Hungary. We just couldn’t find a solution and we really wanted to go to the Ravens game.
Goals for the trip
One city and later kickoff. Our goals were obvious
- Overnight stay in Nuremberg.
- Relaxed return journey on Sunday reasonably early.
- As cheaply as possible, of course.
The plan
We had already been to Nuremberg on vacation, and it’s not that big. We had therefore decided that we didn’t want to do any sightseeing. When we looked for a connection with the Flixbus, we found one that left at 7:30am, but… and of course that was gigantic… directly from Leonberg station. Our accommodation was the hotel on the sports campus of 1.FC Nuremberg. The price/performance ratio was absolutely within our budget. We didn’t want to miss out on that. The return journey was just as relaxed as the outward journey, with the Flixbus almost to the front door.
