Challenges
Actually, the challenges are usually the same. Although we want to have a good time, we try to get through as cheaply as possible. The luggage is usually the biggest challenge. That was also the case this time. Another small problem this time was the connection from Paris to Frankfurt. We simply didn’t have any alternatives. There was only this one connection. That wasn’t just a problem because of the train station, there was also a lack of emergency redundancy. We usually always have that. What else? Yes, of course, as always… little sleep, no shower, 2 days 2 games. Roughly summarized, that was it.
Frankfurt Scale
Frankfurt Scale ******
With suitcase to the Musketeers and the Galaxy +1
Without showering to Frankfurt and home. +1
Sleeping at McDonalds at Frankfurt Central Station +2
(normally 3 stars, but in Frankfurt it’s more normal … so only 2)
Bare stinky feet on the Flixtrain. +2
The Frankfurt Scale is a scale I invented that expresses how antisocial the behavior is. Many factors play a role here, why Frankfurt Scale? More on this later.

JUST SHOTS RATING 85/100
- The Stade Jean-Buoin is an incredible gem. ++
- No power party, although it would really make sense there just because of the redcompany –
- Great football stadium that is normally used for rugby. +
- The people there were nice, if a little distant. +/-
- A lot of distance from the field as a photographer and a bit too many media people. A lot of influencers –
- Cool style through and through. +
- Red company +
(no need to explain, everyone who knows them understands)
It was a thoroughly successful visit for us. To be honest, I have to say that this was largely due to the fantastic stadium. But that’s not meant in a negative way. Apart from the people from the Red Company and the cheerleaders, we hardly had any contact with other people. But they were all very nice. I can well imagine that if you go there more often, you have less distance to the people.
Of course, we always write from the perspective of photographers who are guests at a franchise. In general, however, there is always a lot of overlap with the impressions of a “normal” visitor.

- The PSD Bank Arena is the perfect size and really great. +
- It’s actually always great in Frankfurt. People are great, fans are nice. +
- The power party at the Galaxy is always really cool. I like the DJ +
- First a little fuss about accreditation, then it worked out. –
(despite what felt like 100 influencers with smartphones on the sideline)
- It lacks a bit of an aha moment. It’s just always the “same”; albeit a good one. –
- ORANGE VESTS ARE TERRIBLE! —
The fans at the Galaxy actually come for the game rather than the party or/and to be seen. I’ll come back to that later when we talk about Rhein Fire. The fans are all really nice and we’ve always met great people at the Galaxy. The stadium is great, it just gets cramped at some point if you want to develop. But that’s probably one of the problems with the Galaxy. Not so much new stuff happens. The fans notice that and comment on it. Of course, the orange vests are a real killer for anyone who seriously evaluates photos and videos in terms of composition.
