With the Galaxy
When we arrived at the PSD Bank Arena, we wanted to go straight inside. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed into the arena until later. At least we were allowed to “park” our suitcases in the press room. Unfortunately, we couldn’t freshen up. But we just relaxed a little in the sun. That wasn’t really bad either. After all, we met Opu there. A little small talk with Opu is always good. About 100 cigarettes later, we were finally able to go inside. We immediately moved into our “usual” corner. I love the fact that you can get out of the PSD Bank Arena as a press person through the gate and then stand directly in front of the catering stand. In the meantime, it has also become a habit that I always meet the same nice fan couple there while smoking. Somehow that’s representative of the Galaxy. I mean, we’re from Stuttgart and don’t come to Frankfurt that often, but we always feel a bit at home. However, that’s also a bit negative (it’s not from me, it’s from the fans). Not much changes at the Galaxy. Everything is actually the same as always. You could say, if you’re nasty, that there’s no development. There’s something to that if you compare it to the Ravens, for example. On the other hand, it’s also fair to say that the Galaxy are already doing everything at a pretty high level. But yes, the power party has looked exactly the same for two years now. The intake, the small features etc. not much has changed. Does it have to? Yes, no, maybe. Of course, Galaxy has a great basis with its fanbase and visitor numbers. But I also think that you have to offer new things from time to time. A lot has changed now in terms of sport. Oh, and what really makes me foxy… the orange vests have to go!!!! They are photo AND video killers! The orange just immediately draws everyone’s attention. And there are lots of them running around! They also stand at the tunnel at the entrance. Terrible! Right, left, in the middle… after a day at the Galaxy, I always have to go back to therapy for two weeks before I can look at the color orange again without having problems with my impulse control. The game was actually more exciting than everyone had hoped. But in the end, you really couldn’t have seen it coming. Both the Panthers and the Galaxy were still a miracle team in week 4, both of whom started the season with far too high expectations. But as always: match report… not available here.
