The Schauinsland-Reisen-Arena
The Duisburg Arena is the home ground of Rhein Fire. The games there are always a spectacle, not least because of the perfect staging. Lots of smoke, fireworks, music and plenty of show make the game in the arena a real event. With its capacity, the arena is still a little big for a “normal” Rhein Fire game, but it doesn’t get too crowded. In addition, every now and then Rhein Fire games are quite well attended, so the arena can be described as adequate. The security people, staff, coaches, volunteers etc. always treated us very nicely and we always felt very comfortable. The arena is not a showpiece visually, but the full stands look very good in photos. The infrastructure is great and you have everything you need within easy reach. There is plenty of space around the pitch, even behind the end zones. The only small drawback here is the hard floor made of solid concrete. As a “lying” photographer, this quickly becomes uncomfortable. The rest is simply great and access to the indoor area is also very well organized. Of course, the organization of Rhein Fire plays a huge role in everything, but that then plays into the ratings of the franchises.and has only marginally to do with the stadium. The Power Party offers a lot of program and has to accommodate a lot of people. The show program is good, but you could criticize the lack of variety a little. The Ravens, for example, have a lot more variety and a lot more programs for families/children. At Rhein Fire, there are mainly a few stalls, a stage and lots of merchandise. More on this in our reviews of the power parties.
