The arrival
We finally landed in Madrid. The airport is great. Very well maintained and beautiful… but also very large. But that’s not an issue at all, as there are lots of people walking around who are always happy to provide information. We then took the conveyor belts for what felt like 15 minutes towards the entrance. The cabs should also be there. There is a really cool rule for cabs at Madrid airport. There is a flat rate … no matter where exactly the hotel is … the transfer costs a flat rate of €33 to and from the airport. Sure, it’s certainly cheaper by public transport, but with our luggage and for 2 people, that’s definitely a decent price. Above all, it’s fixed. There are no rip-offs or unpredictable surprises. The cab driver of our choice (actually the first in the queue) then took us to our hotel, passing a number of sights. Although it wasn’t really a hotel in the true sense of the word, they were rental apartments. But more on that in a moment.

Our accommodation
We had decided against a classic hotel and preferred an apartment. This was mainly to do with the table for working, but the location was also decisive … and in the end the choice was also relatively limited due to the short notice booking. We were really happy to have found the “Feelathome Waldorf Suites Apartments”. At 630 euros for 3 nights, it actually exceeded our planned budget…. but Madrid is only once a year … oh no, we were already there again in WEEK 6. But we wanted to have a good time in Madrid for the first time. In addition, the insanely good location of the apartment was just too tempting. As soon as you leave the door, you can see the Vallehermoso stadium, the Bravos’ stadium. And what more can you say than “you get what you pay for” … and the apartment was amazing. Not only was it really big and had everything you could possibly imagine, it also had a wonderful roof terrace. In short … it was a hit!
