Awards
- Florian Wegan began his American football career in 2011 with the AFC Rangers Mödling, after initially playing soccer and skiing.
- Despite his young age, he has already played in the second men’s team and won Iron Bowl VII with the Rangers in 2014.
- In 2020, he moved to the AFC Dacia Vienna Vikings and won the Austrian championship title. He was named AFL Offense MVP together with his brother Anton.
- In the 2021 season, he led the AFL in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns and took part in the 2021 European Championships for Austria.
- In 2022, he signed a contract with the Vienna Vikings in the European League of Football (ELF) and contributed to their winning start with three touchdowns in the first three games.
- Despite a knee injury, he returned in the twelfth game week and scored two touchdowns in the semi-final against the Barcelona Dragons. In the championship game against the Hamburg Sea Devils, he ran into the end zone once and was crowned champion with the Vikings.
- Wegan also ran out for the Vikings in the 2023 season and played for the Vikings AFL team again in the 2024 season.
- Florian Wegan is the older brother of Anton Wegan.
