All teams have opted for A imports
Unsurprisingly but remarkably, ALL teams in the European League of Football have opted for an A-import as QB1. There are many new faces in the ELF, but there are also a few old acquaintances. I’ve taken the trouble to write down my opinion on the quarterbacks and have also included a short analysis.

Panthers Wroclaw - Demarcus Levon Irons Jr.
DemarcusLevon Irons Jr. certainly looks like a solid US quarterback on paper, who also has a few stops in college under his belt. He also had some strong awards and mentions a few years ago. All in all, a solid choice … BUT: Historically, he sits in an ejection seat as the Panthers’ QB1. The Panthers tend to release the QB1 if the early season performance isn’t right. He’s never usually been the reason for failure in the past, but he’s always been the head that has rolled. Last year you could clearly see that with the example of Steven Duncan. He then delivered for the Madrid Bravos for the injured Chris helbig and got the Bravos into the playoiffs (in the franchise’s first year). The Panthers were not in the playoffs and really shot themselves in the foot. But more on that in the analysis of the teams. I’m definitely skeptical that the Panthers will be able to keep their QB1 for the season this time around. Besides, in comparison (and that already sounds pretty sick) he’s more mediocre among the other QBs.
Cologne Centurions - Jeremy Moussa
JeremyMoussa joining the struggling Centurions is almost a blockbuster signing. The US quarterback may not have had a very long career, but he has had a very successful one. Only the sometimes poor completion % doesn’t look so great. He also seems to be more of a passer than a dual-threat back. The weapons at the wide receiver position have to play a role. In general, though, he’s definitely received plenty of accolades and mentions in his college career. He was also invited to a Buccaneers mini-camp, which did not result in a commitment. With his list of accolades, he will definitely make an impact here IF he can get along in Europe and especially with the struggling Centurions. Let’s hope they were honest with him when they signed him, otherwise his enthusiasm could be curbed immediately.

Paris Musketeers - Jaylon Henderson
JaylonHenderson, a name with charisma. He has made a name for himself in Germany and Europe with two GFL championships and outstanding performances. His statistics are sometimes bizarre. He’s a real dual-threat quarterback, although that’s where some of the criticism he faces comes from. He sometimes stood out in the GFL due to his rather stubborn style of play, gaining a lot of yards on foot, but thanks to the rest of his team, he sometimes didn’t have enough resistance. At this point, you have to legitimately ask yourself whether he can change his style of play. The fact that he’s kicking his foot traps with the admittedly similar style to Zach Edwards is rather questionable. In any case, Henderson is a very gifted QB, I still don’t put him in the top 3, but partly because there are now some real bangers in the ELF.With the Musketeers, of course, he meets a head coach who makes the players tremble with awe and respect by his name alone. So if there’s one team where Jaylon can develop into a more team-oriented style of play, it’s Paris.
***Little addendum: He’s already a banger, watched a few more scenes and definitely a banger. Still, you could put virtually any QB on the Royals last year and he would have performed. Kind of like Rhein Fire 2023.
Munich Ravens - Russell Tabor
RussellTabor was a “little surprise” among the quarterback signings in the European League of Football. Sure, he’s a US-American with European experience. He’s certainly not a bad QB either. However, he “only” won the Spanish league title last year with Osos Rivas. As a US import, his previous successes are unfortunately not so brilliant. What speaks in his favor is that he is probably a workhorse and a multi-sport athlete from a sporting family. A worker with the will to win in everything he does. Still, you have to wonder if the Ravens haven’t found a more blatant QB, or if they see something in him that I can’t see,. the move has an absolute upside for me. They signed him to a 3 year contract. That’s a real novelty at the quarterback position and it shows that they want to go into the future with him. So Munich are thinking sustainably. I hope they’ve backed the right horse.
