4 Free Agents to watch 2025 Part 1

Every year there are new exciting signings in the top European leagues. The European League of Football, as the supposedly highest league in Europe, is of course also part of the European player carousel. Some players fall by the wayside, which can have various reasons. These can be interpersonal problems in the team, performance problems of the players, false expectations or even problems in the franchise. The reasons are as varied as the players themselves. First and foremost, the A-imports and E-imports are usually affected. With these rare spots, the teams naturally want to be sure that they have found the best possible solution. In the ELF, only 2 A-spots in offense and 2 in defense are allowed to be active. The choice is certainly difficult. Do you want to rely on a player with European experience or do you take a fresh “grenade” from college? Partly it is also a question of price.

D‘Wayne Okwudili Obi has made a name for himself in Europe in recent years. With his mass and strength, he is a real asset to any team, and not just as a running back. Obi showed his skills at the Madrid Bravos 2024 and played a key role in the Bravos reaching the final. As an E-import, he also doesn’t need an A-sport and has no problem with the “culture change” that the US-American imports sometimes suffer. With 5.39 yards per attempt, he really is brutally wide in the effective zone. An opponent definitely has to respect him.

MarkellCastle is an impressive athlete. You can tell how hard he has trained for this athleticism. He is very strong and massive for a wide receiver and can also be a hybrid running back. His enormous strength and explosiveness always guarantees a few yards after catch (YAC) for the offense. His ball protection is also terrific. Castle has already made several stops in Europe, impressing in many of them with his outstanding performance. He is also a really good man. His teammates like him and he is loyal. It was insane what he pulled off in the Munich Ravens’ inaugural season in 2023. One of our best memories was the opening game of the new franchise against the Raiders Tirol. A high-scoring game in a class of its own, not least because of Markell.

ZacharyBlair is an American linebacker who has been active in the European League of Football since 2021. He has incredible experience and impressive stats, especially in the ELF. He has been an integral part of the ELF since it began. He has already played for Stuttgart Surge, Istanbul Rams, Cologne Centurions and most recently for the Milano Seamen. He stood out for his impressive defensive statistics. Blair is valued for his energy and commitment on the field and is a valuable addition to any team. Of course, you have to consider using an A-spot for a linebacker, but then Blair is certainly not the worst choice. He also knows his way around Europe and knows “European football” like few others.

NathanielRobitaille is an experienced American football player who has played in various top European leagues. He has received numerous awards and has been part of successful teams. His impressive career includes stints with the Frankfurt Universe, Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns and Rhein Fire. Most recently, the US-American wide receiver played for the Fehervar Enthroners. He won a championship with Rhein Fire in the 2023 season and is an absolute fan favorite in the European League of Football. His impressive performances and statistics speak for themselves. A wide receiver from the States who knows his way around Europe, gets to grips with the culture and style of play and is adored by the fans. You don’t find that on every corner and is certainly absolutely desirable for some teams. Even if the motto at the moment is “higher, faster and further”.
