Authentic and likeable - the goal of every franchise
The franchises in the European League of Football live from their fans. Unlike clubs in the lower leagues, they are even more dependent on fans buying tickets and merchandise. Of course, this is also directly related to the more expensive home games and more expensive stadiums. An authentic and likeable image is also much more important for attracting sponsors and partners than simply being successful. The Sea Devils from Hamburg had a difficult time in 2024 anyway. They did the big northern tour due to a lack of stadiums. It was more or less successful. However, the franchise always enjoys special attention as the franchise most closely linked and associated with the ELF itself. They try to convey a down-to-earth image by using down-to-earth, local wording.
go "Moin" yourself! - what was going on?
What happened? The Hamburg Sea Devils used one of our photos. Sure, they probably got it directly from a player. But on the one hand, it’s not the photographers’ duty to check whether they’ve done everything right, and on the other hand, they have access to the ELF archive with the photos. Normally, ELF franchises avoid using photos from external photographers like us at all costs. It is also clear that our photos … and the one in question, can and could also be bought via IMAGO. Anyway, they used our photo. I kindly pointed out once under the post, especially that the wrong photographer (ELF team photographer) was given as the source. Understandably, this hits a photographer really hard. After a few hours without a response, I was annoyed and made this known again. The end of the song was then the communication on the right. in the end, of course, any kind of apology was missing and I felt like I almost had to apologize for them using our photo.
I guess some nerd wrote the message without consultation … although I wouldn’t really be surprised if the Hamburgers had agreed to it.
You can do better . Go “moin” yourself!
