Generali Arena Vienna
We had decided to visit the semi-final of the Vienna Vikings. This took place in the Generali Arena in Vienna. The guests were the Paris Musketeers. It was a bit of a logistical challenge, as we wanted to be in Stuttgart for the second semi-final the day after, but it was absolutely worth it. The stadium in Vienna is actually pretty perfect, it’s really beautiful. Everything is purple and matches the Vikings’ color practically perfectly. With its 17500 seats, it’s not too big either, so the stands look well filled. The Vikings have turned the game into a real event for the whole family. In addition to the “new” mascot, there was also a motorcycle air show. The riders performed stunts for every touchdown. The atmosphere was great, the weather superb. Around the pitch was also pleasant artificial turf. The aisle between the advertising board and the spectators was quite narrow. Normally that’s great, but in this case the motorcycles also rode along there and high-fived with the spectators. There was a cool and relaxed party in front of the door. There was also a separate entrance for the press and media. We were able to walk into the indoor area at ground level. As always with the Vikings, we received a warm welcome. It really was a great experience that left nothing to be desired.
