Max Morlock Stadium Nuremberg
The stadium in Nuremberg really surprised us in a positive way. Somehow it has something romantic about it. We really didn’t know what we were in for. When we were greeted by Isabel and the Ravens people in their usual friendly manner, we walked onto the pitch at ground level. We met a few old acquaintances outside the concourse and inside, but that’s more for our diary. Despite its enormous capacity of 50,000 seats, the stadium is very open. There is a lot of space around the pitch. This may be a little too wide for spectators here and there, but for us it was great. There was also a lot of pleasant soft artificial turf around the pitch and you didn’t have to linger on the hard ground. The light was great thanks to the open design. Only when the sun started to set (it was an evening game) did it get a bit dim and the lighting was a bit inadequate. As photographers, we were almost over-indulged. We were able to stay in the VIP area, where we had a coffee machine, a fridge with drinks and the catering team from 1. FC Nürnberg at our disposal. We even got hot dogs, brownies and lots of other things. As the sun went down, it shimmered here and there through the stands and superstructures. It was beautiful. We really enjoyed it there. Once again, the Ravens did not disappoint. Unfortunately, there weren’t enough spectators for the stadium (despite the top game against the Surge). But that can still change.
