All teams have opted for A imports
Unsurprisingly but remarkably, ALL teams in the European League of Football have opted for an A-import as QB1. There are many new faces in the ELF, but there are also a few old acquaintances. I’ve taken the trouble to write down my opinion on the quarterbacks and have also included a short analysis.

Hamburg Sea Devils - Micah Leon
To be honest, this signing was already on the cards. However, it was clear from the start that Micah Leon was not the “banger” signing. Sure, as a QB for the Gators he’s definitely at a good level. He also received an invitation to the Miami Dolphins’ rookie mini camp. In general, however, he is and remains a former “walk-on” quarterback. So there was rarely any talk of him being a starter. That alone is not a bad thing in principle. We’ve had a few walk-on players who have exploded in Europe. I have my doubts about him, though. Last stop with the Gators, where the culture shock in Europe will surely be huge. I hope he gets a good “relocation” service, be it from teammates and finds his way into the season properly. In my opinion he will at least not play a role in the MVP race.
Fehervar Enthroners - Brock Domann
Brock Domann really surprised me. I think he was the better quarterback in the GFL compared to Jaylen Henderson, even though he didn’t come away a winner in the finals. Why? Quite simply, a team like the Potsdam Royals naturally has an extremely strong OLine as well as a number of weapons who can receive the ball. I don’t want to make the Monarchs’ team worse than they were. But there was just a bit of a gap at almost every position in terms of performance. With Henderson, you could tell in some games that he was almost bored. Of course he was challenged at times, but Brock had a much tougher game. The pressure on him was higher, the receivers were also good, but all in all he had to play under more difficult conditions and showed his versatility. He is also a very down-to-earth team player. I definitely recommend the interview with Athletesforum, which I also wrote a short summary of. >> The article <<
Unfortunately, the Enthroners are now simply the Enthroners. With their strong A-receiver they will be able to do something, but probably not against strong teams. The good thing is Domann is well aware of that and knows the situation as an underdog who has to work his way up. So I think he fits in very well in terms of his attitude. But I still fear that he won’t play a role in the MVP race either. But … maybe it will be a longer-term commitment with him and the Enthroners, as he is also a character who likes to help build things up.

Frankfurt Galaxy - Matthew McKay
MAtthew McKay is already a cracker. Although the Galaxy team as a whole didn’t convince last year, he has. Every critic and pundit was convinced that Mckay would fit in with the Galaxy. And yes, I see it the same way. It’s just a shame that he wasn’t able to show what he can do last season. He’s athletic and actually relatively accurate. To be fair, it has to be said that some people didn’t get on with him either, which is no wonder given the pressure and the weakening team. It’s just a shame that, from the looks of it, Markell Castle has fallen by the wayside and is probably a victim of last year’s team. However, Frankfurt have made incredible progress this year. Not just the new signings, but also the coaching and depth. I hardly dare say it out loud after last year, but I have a feeling Mckay and the Galaxy could be a contender. And I think Mckay has to be on the radar.
Helvetic Mercenaries - Isaiah Weed
Isaiah Weed has an incredible amount of experience. Above all, he has already gained a lot of experience in Europe. Even with last year’s “mattress team”, the Cologne Centurions, he still delivered a decent performance. Sure, he unfortunately had a lot of interceptions, but he also had almost no protection. With the Centurions, apart from the fun, not much actually went right. If you look at his stats from Hildesheim (for example), you can clearly see what he can deliver when the rest is right. And yes, Hildesheim… the HC of the Mercenaries … ring a bell? On the one hand, he realizes what he’s capable of doing, on the other hand, that could spur his game. You can see how it worked together. On top of that, with Keelan Cole he has a real weapon at his disposal who probably hasn’t run around at WR in the ELF yet. Sure, Weed is probably not the fastest anymore, but the offense will run well. It’s enough that Cole simply pulls 1-2 DBs permanently and the other players get more space. I’m excited about Isaiah and could bet he’ll be the surprise as QB1 (sure, Reid Sinnett is a banger too, but you expect it).
