Just thinking
We wanted to go to “our Raiders” the whole season and actually more often. The Raiders Tirol didn’t win our “Best Franchise” award last season for no reason. We really like the Raiders. Every time we’ve been there, we’ve been welcomed and treated more than friendly. The area and the stadium with the backdrop are probably one of the best things the ELF has to offer. The only pity is that Ja’Len (Embry) no longer plays there. Even if he feels at home in Madrid, he was still a little icing on the cake for what was already a great franchise. Anyway, this time the Vienna Vikings would be the visiting team in beautiful Innsbruck. There was no way we were going to miss out on that. The “Austrian Bowl” is always a cracker full of emotion and a real “rivalry”. As the game in Innsbruck was at 4:25pm on Saturday, we couldn’t schedule any other games that weekend. Technically it was simply not possible.
Goals for the trip
The classics were on board again. This time traveling with our large photo case again, luggage was an issue. As we couldn’t and didn’t want to stay overnight with Dominik in Erding, we also had to spend the night in Innsbruck. We also wanted to get our autograph cards signed again this time. We also wanted to do at least one interview. Ken Hike Jr stood in for the Vikings at short notice during the game. We were really looking forward to seeing him and hoped to get his autograph as well. And of course, I didn’t want to blow a vacation, especially if we weren’t going to play two games in one weekend.
The plan
The plan for week 7 was actually quite simple. We wanted to take the train to Innsbruck on Saturday morning. There we had booked a room directly at the Tivoli Hotel (yes, that’s actually just across the road). We planned to spend the night there and after breakfast our train back to Stuttgart left. The departure time in Stuttgart was 7:44am, but we would be back in Stuttgart at 1pm on Sunday and in Leonberg shortly afterwards. That sounded like a “relaxed” weekend. Yes, we really are quite hardened. By our standards, it’s really no longer a challenge.
