Arrival in Madrid - the weather was a surprise
We finally arrived in Madrid and were really glad to get off the cramped plane. After the players, cheerleaders and staff, of course. While they all set off straight away with their luggage from the overhead lockers, we waited for our checked baggage. We were already familiar with this from our first visit to Madrid. So we took a €33 cab to the hotel. We had decided against the accommodation of most of the others. We were already on the roof terrace of the Riu and preferred to be close to the stadium. We were also unfortunately so late with our booking that there wasn’t much choice. (In terms of price, we were already beyond good and evil anyway). This time we opted for a different hotel in the Vallehermoso area. Unfortunately, you can’t book for less than 3 days in the great suites from our last stay, otherwise we would have liked to pitch our tents there again. But we were totally blown away when we arrived. The hotel was wonderful. The people were really incredibly nice. An absolute hit. So it’s clear why we paid a bit more money for it. But it was worth it.
We were then able to store our suitcases and walked to the stadium “normally” without showering.
