Max Morlock Stadium and the Ravens
When we arrived there, it was even clearer than in the Tarczyński Arena in week 1 that larger events have already taken place here. The arena – and especially the area around it – is quite impressive. As usual, we received a friendly welcome at the Ravens’ accreditation desk (shout-out to Isabel). We were briefed about the positioning and the press area. That was a surprise. Without further ado, the press area was where the area for VIPs and members of the FCN normally is. It’s a kind of cafeteria/lounges. The whole thing was like a land of milk and honey (for ELF photographers, who usually don’t even get anything to drink). There was a coffee machine (a really big fully automatic machine), a fridge with various soft drinks and beverages, which we were allowed to help ourselves to, and a buffet. There were already some small snacks there, and we were told that the FCN catering team would also be serving hot dogs later on. Thank you very much, Ravens. That was definitely special and really cool for us. The stadium is probably one of the nicest of the larger stadiums we’ve been to this year. We’ll do a little ranking at the end. But it was really very nice. The Ravens really let it rip during the run-in. Nothing was missing. Fire, light effects, smoke, fog, cheerleaders and the mascot. The people there prepared us very kindly for what was to come. They just wanted to make sure we weren’t too close to the flames, but also that we got the right angle to take photos. So all around… Awesome! Unfortunately, all the effort didn’t pay off in the match result. But as always: match report… not available here! So the Ravens will be remembered for a great event. As a single event, it was definitely in our top 3. Maria was a bit cold and the game was unfortunately a bit one-sided, especially towards the end. We packed up and headed off at the final whistle.
