Life in the streets isn't easy
In basketball, another American mass sport that is played with a round ball, mass acceptance has also been strongly promoted by so-called street basketball. What can be seen as a recipe for success in basketball could now also cause a sensation in American football …. because … Berlin Thunder still don’t have a stadium.
Evil tongues are now asking: “Did they have a stadium last season?”
Unfortunately, I have to agree a little. In the last broadcast of RedCap Football (Foot Bowl TV) and even before that from … us (Just Shots) … the miserable conditions at Jahmsportpark were reported. There were reports of porta-potties as a toilet replacement, at least large porta-potties that are also accessible with wheelchairs, as a barrier-free alternative to standard cabins. It was mentioned that the changing rooms, which are so far away from the action, are so unsuitable for lingering at half-time that the Paris Musketeers (as an example) spent their half-time behind the stadium ruins between the TV broadcasting vans and on the loading areas of the trucks. We were really used to a lot from our travels, but to be honest you really have to admit that the venue was not suitable for sport at European level even before. It was an eyesore in European American football. So much for the status quo, or rather Satu’s “where?”.
No temporary stadium for Thunder

Now (reports in various media, for example here Stadionwelt) the operation of a temporary stadium has been overturned by the Berlin Senate. What does that mean? The Thunder’s emergency nail is gone. The Eagles and Rebels in Berlin cannot (or do not want to) share the pitch either. This multiple load is probably too much for the pitch. Perhaps Berlin Thunder will now play their games secretly, at night, in Berlin, like illegal street races. That could finally make street football socially acceptable. What do you think?
