GAZI stadium on the Waldau
As an old Kickers fan, the DAZI Stadium in Stuttgart has long been a familiar stadium for me. With around 11,000 seats, it’s definitely still big enough and totally appropriate for Surge. Of course, we would also like to see more spectators at the Surge, but as things stand, the stadium is still far from full. It really is a little gem in the Degerloch district. Right next to the television tower, the tower is always a beautiful background for photographs. Unfortunately, due to the focus on soccer, there is extremely little space behind the Dnzones. It’s really tight even for changing sides. Then there are the advertising boards, which restrict the limited space a little. There aren’t usually very many people in Stuttgart, but there are enough photographers and media professionals to make space a little tight from time to time. There is practically no real power party in the true sense of the word. There are only a few small stalls. The actual party takes place as tailgaiting in the parking lot hosted by Surge OFC. On the one hand, it’s quite funny, but on the other, it’s all designed more for adults who are not averse to alcohol. That’s not a bad thing in principle, but Stuttgart completely lacks a family-friendly program. Unfortunately, the event character is completely lost. The lawn is well-kept and you generally feel comfortable there. There are no long routes or obstacles. I quite like it there, but I prefer to go to other cities … probably also because I live and work in Stuttgart.
