Velodromo Maspes-Vigorelli
We didn’t actually manage to go to Milan for the Seamen until 2024. But we’ve heard a lot about the stadium. It ranged from “the track makes your feet hurt badly after the day!” to “completely bitten by mosquitoes”. And too few spectators anyway, of course. There is no power party, etc. But we’ve always liked the franchise and the city of Milan in particular, so we set off on our little adventure with an open mind. You can find out more about our travels and “adventures” in our Diary 2024. When we arrived at the stadium, we thought it looked okay from the outside. We weren’t allowed in yet, but we were allowed to leave our suitcases in the media room. The power party is really small. There is a stand from an Argentinian and a merch stand … and about 2 beer bench seats with tables. But that’s enough and it’s really cozy. The food and drinks are great, the people are all incredibly nice and everyone knows everyone else. But that’s not the point here. The stadium is a bit strange because of the circular track around it, but it’s incredibly beautiful. As a motif with the houses in the background, it’s a photographic highlight. Some artificial turf around the pitch makes it pleasant to sit or lie down. We were lucky with the mosquitoes, it had been raining. The track is steep, but you don’t have to climb it that often. There really aren’t many spectators, but that’s not a problem for the stadium. We thought the Verlodromo was a real gem. It was beautiful and a great place to stay. I hope that we will be able to visit it more often.
