The arena
The Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław is very impressive. When you walk across the huge parking lots towards it, you feel like you’re about to step into a UFO that has landed. The Panthers have decorated and “branded” the interior in a really cool way. You could be forgiven for thinking it was their home ground. However, they only play a few games there. That was also the reason why we really wanted to go to Poland in week 1 after the game in Hungary. There are certainly easier trips (see our diary), but it was absolutely worth it. The reception area for the press was really cool. You suddenly feel really small. And the Panthers always manage to attract enough spectators to make such stadiums seem quite full. The atmosphere and the backdrop were fantastic! The only negative thing for us was that at the beginning (until the 3rd quarter) we were only allowed to take photos at a great distance from the pitch. Only then were we told that we could probably get closer, they had made a mistake. We were also escorted outside once by security because they had forgotten to give us the wristband. Of course, we got it without any problems, but it was a bit annoying (the walking distance in the arena should not be underestimated). But it was a great experience. And again, there was artificial turf laid around the pitch. This simply makes it much more pleasant to move around. Anyone who likes the Panthers anyway should definitely go to this arena. A real spectacle!
