All teams have opted for A imports
Unsurprisingly but remarkably, ALL teams in the European League of Football have opted for an A-import as QB1. There are many new faces in the ELF, but there are also a few old acquaintances. I’ve taken the trouble to write down my opinion on the quarterbacks and have also included a short analysis.

Vienna Vikings - Ben Holmes
Ben Holmes is one of my favorite quarterbacks in the European League of Football. On the one hand, he is consistent, like others, but at an extremely high level. In my opinion, he plays very safely, takes few unnecessary risks and has a very good understanding of the game. He is modest and openly talks about the fact that he got the chance to play for the Vikings when things weren’t going so well for him. He seems almost unflappable in the pocket. Even when the pressure is on, he stays focused like a rock. When he concedes a sack, you get the impression that he saw it coming and was prepared for it. When he throws the passes, they’re usually very accurate. So I think if Holmes gets what a QB needs, he’s one of the beaten ones in the league.
Berlin Thunder - Jakeb Sullivan
Jakeb Sullivan has become a big name in European American football for good reason. You could say he has been involved in almost every European title. Unfortunately, my opinion is that he always had really good receivers and sometimes did a little too much “spray and pray”. I think his passing game is sometimes too risky and unnecessarily hectic. This also applies to his scrambling. You could clearly see in the game against the Panthers that he was very often on his own feet instead of playing short, quick passes. And that wasn’t very successful in that case, as long as a linebacker like AJ Wentland is chasing you. All in all, I think he looks for the long passes too much, and if they don’t work, he likes to run himself. It all works quite well, but it becomes difficult when the air gets thinner.

Nordic Storm - Jadrian Clark
Jadrian Clark is a controversial topic as a quarterback. He certainly has plenty of experience as a championship QB. And behind a good OLine (which he’ll probably have in Copenhagen) he’s already a blatant performer. To be fair, that’s kind of the job of a QB. I personally really like him, especially as a person. But he has also changed since his difficult start with Rhein Fire last year. He has (and has been) more shielded. Certainly also a kind of protection against harsh and demotivating criticism. But in a duo with a weapon like Glen Toonga, he’s still an insanely good QB. Evil tongues claim that with the line and the fact that you have to respect the run, any QB can do that. Yeah, I think a lot of guys can, but you can’t tell until this season. I think he’ll do well with the Nordic Storm, but he’s still not the No1. (Sorry Jadrian)
Rhein Fire - Chad Jeffries
Chad Jeffries is my personal favorite in the European League of Football. I love his style of play and think he is one of the QBs with the best accuracy. Last season he also showed that he can run the ball. He also plays a short pass. Chad reads the game incredibly quickly and yet calmly. He’s also a great leader and a really nice and polite person. We’ve had the pleasure of talking to him a few times and it’s always been incredibly nice. I am firmly convinced that he will be the “surprise” (actually, everyone knows he’s good) this season. I think he can definitely be MVP and would certainly deserve it. Behind the strong Rhein Fire OLine, I think he will have a gigantic season. I just hope that the other teams haven’t upgraded too much so that he can really turn it on in a really good team.
