What happens to Giorgio Tavecchio
In the ELF, kickers and punters are highly undervalued anyway. We had the honor of being at the first victory of the Helvetic Guards (now the Mercenaries) in 2023. Their kicker (Nils Jonkmans) scored almost all of the Swiss team’s points and thus won the game against the Barcelona Dragons almost single-handedly. Of course that’s an exaggeration, and of course he can’t win games on his own, but I think everyone reading this knows what I mean.
But the question is and remains: Will there be a franchise that “invests” an e-import spot for a kicker? I hope so, but unfortunately I don’t think so. I’m afraid that this highly talented and admirable athlete will “go under” in the Italian league (Seamen, get it?) and we won’t see him in European football anymore. But I would definitely like to see it.
